Dental bridges

More missing teeth? Not a problem!

A dental bridge is a fixed dental restoration used to replace one or more missing tooth. Our bridge restorations are made of the highest quality materials, which allows the results to be extremely natural and life-like. Furthermore it perfects chewing functions and can be an important factor in gaining confidence when it comes to eating and smiling.

What is a dental bridge?

Dental bridges are one of the most often used fixed restorations in prosthetic dentistry. It is essentially an artifical tooth that is held in place by the abutment teeth on either side of the gap.

They are mostly used for the replacement of two or more missing teeth. Hence, they require more support than crowns. This support could be provided by prepared teeth adjacent to missing teeth or dental implants.

The final restoration is highly stable and can be a great long-term solution with sufficient oral care.

The main steps of bridge-making

Consultation and treatment plan

Like in any dental process a detailed consultation and treatment plan is probably the most essential step.

Preparation and taking the impression

First step of the actual process is preparation. In many cases, intact healthy teeth are going provide the majority of the support bridges require. Hence, these are prepared first, followed by temporary crowns, some healing time and last but not least the impression-taking.

Construction and insertion of the final bridge

Our dental technician constructs the final bridge, corresponding to the impression which is then placed on the prepared teeth with a special technique. Sometimes this is followed by smaller corrections e.g. polishing to achieve the perfect fit, comfort and natural look.

the staff at Dr. Leibovitz is wonderful. Now I can come back to all my favorite sports activities and drag my husband to whatever jogging marathons are available locally.
